Kinabalu National Park, with its size of ~ about 754sq km, is the largest and most popular national park for tourists and locals in Sabah. The rainforest of Kinabalu National Park is filled with a variety of fauna and flora. One of the main attractions of the National Park is the variety of orchids (some say, it’s a botanical paradise) available there – beautiful and colorful.
Other attraction is ~ the variety of mammal species, birds (280+ recorded), and colorful butterflies (290+ recorded).
The Poring Hot Spring (part of Kinabalu National Park) main attractions are the natural spring where hot sulfurous water emits from the ground – one may take a bath in it ~ there are a few selections of bathtubs to choose from, depending on your needs – family or individual. The Canopy Walk (consists of a series of walkways suspended from trees above the jungle floor – approximately 60 meters above the ground, not for the faint-hearted) – offers a monkey’s eye-view of the oldest rainforest in the world. It’s a very interesting and exciting activity to do.
